Projects

Producing and curating projects in Lebanon and beyond has been an ongoing practice for Ashkal Alwan, as an independent association and in cooperation with regional and international partners. Initially grounded in an exploration of public space and in public interventions, the curatorial practice pursues, both in Lebanon and abroad, artistic production and exhibition making as a form of intellectual exploration.

The creation of Ashkal Alwan for Contemporary Arts marks a major development in the association’s curatorial practice by providing a venue dedicated to the presentation of new projects, performances and exhibitions, in conjunction with the Home Works Academy and capable of hosting collaborations with various individuals and institutions.
