Home Workspace is a multipurpose facility in Lebanon dedicated to contemporary artistic practices, research, production and education. Home Workspace provides an array of services and educational platforms, featuring production and editing studios, performance spaces, auditoriums, and Lebanon’s first multimedia library for contemporary arts.
The space will provide support to Ashkal Alwan's existing platforms, as well as introduce and develop various new platforms, including the annual Home Workspace Program (HWP).
Geared towards developing an interdisciplinary approach to arts education in the Arab world, the HWP targets emerging artists and cultural practitioners who want to develop their critical skills and practice in a supportive environment in Beirut.
Home Workspace launched in 2011 with the support of a seed fund from Ford Foundation.
